"Respect for our Fathers"
Every year on October 6th, on Memorial Day, the victims of the Ashgabat
earthquake, the fearless defenders of the Geokdepe fortress, and the heroes of
the war of 1941-1945 are remembered with deep sorrow. Wishing that such tragic
events would not happen again, the Turkmen people offer prayers and good
wishes. An exhibition entitled "Respect for our Fathers” dedicated to that
day was organized in the Museum of Fine Arts of Turkmenistan. Our exhibition
features paintings by People's Artist of Turkmenistan Yakup Annanurov,
"Geokdepe Refugees", Yarly Bayramov's "Hard News",
Annamammet Hojaniyazov's "Grief", Honored Art Worker of Turkmenistan
Ashyrmuhammet Kuliev's "Pray", as well as paintings by our master
artists Hoshgeldi Shahberdiev's "Soldiers on the Front", Kakamyrat
Bayliyev's "Earthquake", and sculptures by the well known sculptors
Aleksey Shetinin, "Horse and Sword in the Name of Victory", and
Muhammet Yuzbashev's "News", "Waiting" depicting moments
from the difficult days of the past. Our people, who build and create under the
wise leadership of our Hero Arkadag and Arkadagly Hero Serdar, are deeply
respected for the high moral values passed down from generation to
generation. We bow our heads in front of the heroes who have shown an example
of protecting the Motherland, those who lost their homes and suffered due to
natural disasters, but survived the severe trials and rebuilt our white marbled
city!
